Saratoga Bridges sincerely appreciates the $800 donation we received from the Stewart’s Holiday Match Program.  This grant will allow us to provide two children, between 12 – 17 years old with high functioning autism, an opportunity to attend one week of camp.  By collaborating with Sign Up or Log In to followthe Capital District YMCA, we will offer an inclusive, supportive camping opportunity for 2 children who demonstrate a true financial need.  They will attend The YMCA’s Travel Camp alongside their typically developing peers to experience water tubing, rock climbing and other activities.

Just like every non-profit agency, we are experiencing the fiscal realities facing NY and are very concerned as to how this will impact our programs.  We have had over $1 million in cuts the last 2 years and just received word that 4.5% will be cut from the 2013-2014 budget.  Since our Family Support Services are dependent upon state and federal funds, we must be proactive in seeking contributions from generous companies like Stewart’s Shops.

Stewart’s Shops ongoing support ensures that children with developmental disabilities will have a fun week this summer.  The Holiday Match Program truly does make a difference in our community as Stewart’s matches individual donations made in their shops from Thanksgiving through Christmas Day.  The Holiday Match program is part of Stewart’s commitment to donate 5% of their profits annually to charity.
