A Typical Day

A typical day involves arriving at the hub site between 8-9:30 a.m. and having coffee with peers and discussing the day’s activities. Typically there are two to three community activities to choose from and an in-house activity. Most groups leave for the morning outing about 10:00 a.m. and return to the day hab for lunch, although some groups choose to eat lunch at a volunteer site or local restaurant. After lunch each person will again be offered several choices of activities. The groups usually leave about 12:30 p.m. and return to the day hab about 2 p.m. to catch their bus home. The entire day is developed upon the individual’s choices. Activities are geared to help the individuals achieve their valued outcomes.
