Accountant – for Special Projects and Affiliates

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Accountant is responsible for all Medicaid billing, General Ledger revenue reconciliations, Benefit recording, and auditing of the funds for individuals in Saratoga Bridges Residential program.  The Accountant also maintains the accounting records of related corporations Disabled Citizens Development Corp, and ARC Foundation of Saratoga County. This position reports directly to the Controller.

1) Maintains all books of record for Disabled Citizens Development Corp, including but not limited to, preparation of Standard Journal Entries, preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and preparation of year end audit work papers.

2) Maintains all books of record for The Foundation of Saratoga County, Inc., including but not limited to, processing checks as needed, preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, and preparation of year end audit work papers.

3) Maintains records related to the Agency fundraising account, including but not limited to, preparation of the weekly bank deposit, processing checks, preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, and preparation of year end audit work papers.

4) Perform Audits of the Residential consumers’ bank accounts in accordance with Personal Allowance policies.

5) Records the monthly Social Security/SSI benefits received for the Agency residential consumers, calculates the monthly rent due to the Agency or reimbursement due to the consumer. Works closely with the Consumer Benefits Specialist.

6) Records the cash flow into the agency SS/SSI Beneficiaries bank account, calculating the monthly adjusted consumer rent amount to be transferred to the Agency General Operating Bank account.

7) Prepares billing for Agency programs.

8) Prepares monthly statistical reports for use in the reconciliation of the revenue accounts.

9) Reconciles the general ledger revenue accounts to the statistical reports, preparing and tracking journal entries as necessary.

10) Maintains all Agency records related to the ISS program including but not limited to monthly billing, oversight of monthly checks, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.

11) Performs fiscal analysis and costing of Medicaid information as necessary.

12) Assist with audit preparation as directed.

13) Performs duties of other Business Office Staff in their absence.

14) Performs all job duties in a safe manner by observing all Agency safety rules, procedures and practices.

15) Performs all other duties as assigned by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.
