Saratoga Bridges held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for a new “Green” Administrative Building on Thursday, November 15 at 11:00am. Construction has begun at the site next to our present building on 16 Saratoga, Bridges Boulevard in Malta, New York. The new $5 million, 21,000 sq. ft. structure will provide increased square footage for administrative services. We have maximized our space for mandated training for employees and parent workshops, centralized storage of obligatory personal, personnel and financial documentation, providing privacy for the individuals we serve, meeting and conferences, offices for newly created positions and lunchroom facilities.
The agency has been working with Olsen Associates Architects and NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority) and Zandri Construction Corporation to design, construct and operate a building that meets Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) “Green” Building Certification. We are very proud that our new building will be environmentally responsible. |
It will demonstrate our intention of promoting better health for our consumers, employees, the community and the environment.
In particular, the first floor will have office, clerical, meeting and conference rooms as well as lunchroom facilities. The new office will allow employees who are off-site in rented spaces to return to our main location. The lower level is designed to have a spacious and well-equipped training suite that can be sub-divided into three classrooms or meeting rooms. Also, our IT department and a large storage area for records and other items will be located on the lower level.
The impact of the project will have enormous benefit to our agency’s ability to provide the highest level of quality programs for the 750 individuals with developmental disabilities and their families we serve in Saratoga County. Simultaneously , our employees will reap the benefits of working in a “Green” Building, while the community at large will be assured that we are striving to protect the environment
