This presentation will address how the additional stress and changes that occur when a child receives a diagnosis of a developmental disability impacts parents and siblings and the balance of relationship in the family. Learn how coping skills, parenting styles, communication and a support network can help mitigate the disruption in the family and assist in developing new hopes and dreams.

Rachelle Smith-Stallman, MS, BCDMT, LCAT has been a DANCE/MOVEMENT THERAPIST for over 25 years and has worked with a variety of populations. She is currently working in private practice with young children on the autism spectrum and loving every minute of it! She loves choreographing, performing and making connections through movement that allow growth, creativity and discovery for herself and for others! She’s led a variety of movement workshops for businesses including: New York State Employees, coaches and teachers in the New York City School District and the Sony Corporation among others. Her goal is to keep dancing and spread the positive effects that movement and dance can awaken in everyone!
