We opened our new home on Stone Church Road in Ballston Spa for three men in April of 2007 . It was purchased by Saratoga Bridges from the father of one of the gentleman currently living there. We were able to bring about his vision of providing supervision while fostering individual independence. It has allowed his son the opportunity to continue living in his family home with two other friends. All three of the guys contribute to the day-to-day operations of the house by cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping. They plan recreational activities and enjoy living in the community. They go to the Malta Speedway races, fishing in the creek on Rock City Road, camping, eating out and to the movies. The guys participate in many Special Olympics events and especially enjoy bowling events. One rides his bike all over town and has been able to maintain his job with the Town Milton. Another guy works out at the local YMCA. The third man works at Dunkin Donuts and recently began volunteering to clean up roadsides. The men are thriving in their new home and love having company over, showing off the house to visitors, going on vacation and are looking forward to many more fun times and activities together.
