Shannon Meers’ painting “Old Truck in a Field” was selected as the cover image for the Voice!9 poster and for publicity materials. Shannon is thrilled to have been chosen for this honor! When she first applied to have her pieces considered in 2011, she has had her art work featured in the juried Voice! Shows and has received merit awards. Shannon takes many classes at Creative Endeavors including 2 advanced classes. She painted “Old Truck in a Field” with art center staff and Instructor Winnie Pino. Shannon is very dedicated and works very hard to hone her skills.
All of the pieces our Creative Endeavors submitted were chosen by the jury this year. Amanda Baillargeon, Sarah Baker, Erica Morocco, Collaborative Artists (a torn cardboard collage) and Shannon will have work included and attend the opening on July 12.
In its 9th year, Voice! Is hosted by The Arc Otsego as a means of celebrating the creative voices of artists with intellectual and other developmental disabilities from across New York State. This year’s show will be July 12-August 2 at the Martin-Mullen Art Gallery at SUNY College at Oneonta.
