We are most appreciative to Stewart’s Holiday Match Program for awarding us a grant of $1,000.  Just like every non-profit agency, we are experiencing the fiscal realities facing NY and are very concerned as to how this will impact our programs.  Since our Family Support Services are dependent upon state and federal funds, we must be proactive in seeking contributions from generous companies like Stewart’s Shops.

The $1,000 to augment our Family Reimbursement Program which falls under the umbrella of Family Support Services.  100% of the donation will be applied towards the reimbursement program to provide families, who care for a loved one with a developmental disability living at home, with a cash subsidy to assist with expenses not covered by other resources, or take inordinate time to be approved.   These may comprise services or items including additional respite coverage, IPads, clothing, tutoring, social skills, camp tuition, clinical therapies, travel expenses, swings, YMCA memberships, after school social programs, therapeutic swimming and horseback riding lessons, Applied Behavior Analysis therapy, therapeutic equipment, sensory items, books, weighted blankets, diapers, yard fences, rent, glasses and conference fees.

Thanks to funds from Stewart’s Holiday Match Program, several families will have some of their physical, emotional and financial stress relieved!
