Respite is a welcome relief for parents and families who are responsible for the primary care of people with developmental disabilities to renew & refresh themselves for the challenges ahead.  People enrolled in the Medicaid Waiver Program and deemed eligible for services by OPWDD may be considered for this service depending upon availability of service hours.  Referrals come directly from the Service Coordinator to the Assistant Director of Family Support Services.  A home visit may be scheduled to determine interests and begin to identify goals.  Individual Support Aides work directly with the individual and family to carry out the services identified in the Respite Plan.

For more information, please contact Sarah Slagle, Assistant Director of Family Support Services, at or 518-587-0723 ext. 1254.
