Programs and Services
In 1984, Saratoga Bridges opened the first accessible community-based home in
the County for people with developmental disabilities. Subsequently, our Residential Program has grown tremendously. Our goal is to teach
residents to become independent in living environments by offering support and services to live, work and socialize within the community.
Saratoga Bridges offers several different Day Services for hundreds of adults, of all ages, with developmental disabilities. Each of the options emphasizes the same philosophy in that our role is to support individuals reach their greatest possible potential. We examine the whole person, their capabilities, relationships, job skills, home life and hobbies. Our hope is to provide Day Services so that every individual can strive to reach his/her personal goals and dreams in order to have a full, active life.
Alpha Career Options (the Supported Employment Program) enriches and enhances the lives of individuals with barriers by securing competitive positions within the community. We have been providing services to individuals who have developmental disabilities, mental illness, visual and hearing impairments, physical disabilities and mental retardation.
The Transportation Department, otherwise know as "Saratoga Shuttle," is responsible to meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Currently, Saratoga Bridges owns and operates 33 vehicles, transporting 450 consumers on 25 transportation routes, twice daily. Throughout the year, we accrue over 900,000 miles on our fleet of buses, and vans.
Family Support Services and Community Resources includes many links to programs, workshops and seminars to help with a variety of issues.
The Saratoga Bridges Foundation is comprised of dedicated men and women who provide leadership and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families. A Foundation was established to ensure long-term financial resources that will enable us to provide needed, quality support. The Foundation has created an endowment fund called, "Together for a Lifetime," with gifts from many caring supporters, including individuals, families, businesses, civic organizations and foundations exclusively to benefit the people Saratoga Bridges serves.
Saratoga Bridges Service Coordination Department provides Medicaid Service Coordination (MSC) as well as Plan of Care Support Services (PCSS) to individuals of all ages, from young children to senior citizens. We are currently providing services to over 200 families. Our Medicaid Service Coordinators are experienced professionals that provide assistance to people to explore what it is people want and need out of life, develop a life plan, and then assist them in achieving their goals. Through advocacy, linkage and referal, we assist people to attain the highest quality of life and to live as independently as possible.
