Autism Awareness Month

In conjunction with April celebrated as Autism Awareness Month, Saratoga Bridges, Skidmore College Psychology Department and The Parent Network of the Capital Region will host the 2nd Annual Autism Information Fair and Carnival sponsored by The Law Offices of Wilcenski & Pleat, PLLC. The event will take place on April 21st at the Skidmore College Intramural Gymnasium, located at 815 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs from 12 – 3pm. 

To assist parents, families & caregivers in their search for resources the event will include more than 40 exhibitors.  Information about camp programs, therapeutic programs, recreational programs, technological applications and pre-k through college education programs.  Family oriented activities such as arts & crafts and a bounce house as well as babysitting provided by Skidmore College student volunteers will be available so parents can wander the fair and gather materials.

The current statistics from the Center for Disease Control indicate 1 in 50 children have an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
