Saratoga Bridges commemorated Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month by participating in NYSARC’s initiative of a statewide collaborative food drive project entitled, “NYSARC Gives Back.”
Our Alpha Community Opportunities (formerly Alpha OPTS) chose Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council’s (EOC) Food Pantry as the agency to benefit from their Food Drive. They created signs and had boxes at Alpha, Clifton Park, Admin and Wilton for people to drop off items.
Anita Paley, Executive Director Saratoga County EOC expressed her sentiments by stating, “On Friday, April 3rd Saratoga Bridges stopped by with boxes they collected for us. They had 155lbs. of food and other necessary items. The food will serve 28 individuals at 5.5 lbs. per day which is wonderful. It is the thoughtfulness and desire to be of service to others, who are struggling, that is a seed for all to grow from. The hearts and hands of these generous, kind and supportive individuals is a fine example of people helping people”.
